The Alliance team will be spending three memorable days completing a 100 mile challenge; crossing the West Country from Coast to Coast to raise vital funds for the UK’s leading youth charity, The Prince’s Trust.
In the Prince’s Trust Wild UK Challenge, sponsored by Capgemini, Alliance 4 the Black Country will start beside the Atlantic Coast Porlock Bay in North Somerset, hike across Exmoor, kayak around Lake Wimbleball and cycle through Devon, ending their journey with a sea swim on the South Coast of Devon. Enduring a gruelling eight hours of physical activity each day, Alliance will be competing against other teams to be the first to cross the finish line on Exmouth Beach.
Tim Lang, Rennu Uppal, Neil Whelan and Gemma Butler will complete the challenge from the 4th -6th September 2009. Each team member needs to raise at least £800 in sponsorship which could help one young person completely turn their life around by enabling them to take part in the Team, the Trust’s 12-week self development programme aimed at getting them into work, education or training. Participants will enjoy a life-enhancing experience and could help change at least 3200 disadvantaged lives.
Tim Lang of George Green said “I am so excited about taking on such a phenomenal Challenge and we have an intense training schedule to prepare us. We are looking for donations no matter how large or small to help us raise as much as possible to help young people in the UK turn their lives around”.
